In Alberta, personal income taxes and inheritance taxes are among the lowest in Canada. There is no sales tax either. Another bonus - since January 2009, provincial health care insurance costs for Albertans are paid for by the government.
Calgary is a leader in Canada's petroleum production industry. All energy companies doing business in Canada have their head offices in Calgary. Apart from the oil industry, other companies also developing alternative energies, green power and environmental technologies are here in Calgary also.
